One tap on Start connects you with a random stranger somewhere in the world, and as soon as they join you see their country flag and the gender they picked. That makes it a good place to talk to strangers on video, live and for free.
It is a free video call that runs in your browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to install, and you can start your first 1 on 1 video call without registration. Guests can make as many video calls as they like.
How it works
- Tap Start video chat and allow your camera and microphone.
- We connect you with someone who is online right now. Their video stays blurred for a moment while our safety check runs.
- Say hi. If the sound is bad, type in the message box instead.
- Tap Next (or press Esc on a computer) to meet someone new. On a phone you can also swipe left on their video. Hold Next, or open ⚙️ Settings, to stop.
Pick who you meet
Open ⚙️ Settings to choose a country, set your gender under "I am" and add up to five interests, like music, gaming or football. We look for a partner who shares at least one of them, so the first minute of a stranger video chat is less awkward. Leave everything empty and you meet anyone, worldwide.
Camera on or off, any time
You decide what the other person sees. Turn your camera off with 📷 and keep talking with your voice only, or mute your microphone with 🎤. Doing this for the first time? You can start with your camera off, listen for a bit, and turn it on when you feel ready. If your partner switches their camera off, a note shows on the screen, and they can still hear you.
Rules and safety on video chat with strangers

Report any inappropriate behavior with the 🚩 Report button. The person is skipped and you will never be matched with them again. Behind that button are automated systems and a team of human moderators who look out for problems 24/7, and people who break the rules lose video. Your calls are not recorded: we do not save what you say or show on a video call.
Safety tips
- Keep personal details to yourself: your full name, phone number, home address, school or workplace.
- Never send money, gift cards or codes to someone you met here, whatever story they tell.
- Be careful when someone pushes you to move to another app straight away.
- If a call feels wrong, tap Next right away. You never owe anyone an explanation.
- If you see something that breaks the rules, report it before you skip, so our moderators can act on it.

Met someone you get along with? Tap 👤+ Add friend. If they add you too, you become friends, and later you can message each other or start a private 1-on-1 voice or video call whenever you are both online. Your friends and messages are on the Friends & messages page.
Share the website with your friends to bring more people and share the fun. The 📤 Invite friends button gives you a link to send. Many people also share fun moments from their calls on YouTube and social media. If you want to do that, always ask the other person first, and only record or share anything after they clearly say yes. Never record or post someone who did not agree.
