This policy explains what information TalkWithStranger collects when you use talkwithstranger.com (the "Site"), why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We built the Site to need as little personal data as possible: you can chat without an account, and we never ask for your real name, phone number or address.

The Site is only for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we remove their account data and saved lists. If you believe a minor is using the Site, report them in the chat with the "Underage" reason or email us.

We do not sell your personal data for money, and we never ask for or store payment details.
The Site is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this Site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
We also use your browser's local storage for things the Site needs to work: your browser key, nickname, settings and saved lists. These stay on your device until you clear your browser data.
Most data on the Site deletes itself. The more you use the Site, the longer your friends and messages are kept:
Other periods are listed in section 3. Backups of saved accounts are kept for 14 days.
Some of these providers may process data in other countries. Where they do, they use the safeguards the law requires.
To keep chats safe, messages and nicknames are checked automatically. Links, social media handles and harmful or illegal content may be removed before delivery. This does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you disagree with an automated decision, email us and a person will review it.
Everyone can delete their saved account in the Friends panel (💾 → Delete the saved copy), sign out, turn off notifications and "Near me", and clear their browser data at any time.
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, or to stop using it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also contact the data protection authority where you live.
You also have the right to know what personal information we collect and to opt out of "selling" or "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies may count as "sharing": you can opt out through Google Ads Settings, through the privacy choices link on the page where it is shown, or by emailing us. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
To use any right, email [email protected]. Because we hold very little that identifies you, we may ask for your browser key or account details to find your data. We answer within one month.
Users and authorities can contact us about illegal content or any other matter at [email protected], in English. You can also report any user or message directly in the chat.
We protect the Site and the data we hold, and we store only what the Site needs. No system is completely secure, so please never share passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in chats.
We will update this page when our practices change and change the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will also show a notice on the Site before they take effect.
