What is "Omegle Kids"?
"Omegle Kids" is a name some websites and videos use for random video chat aimed at children. The original Omegle closed in November 2023, and there has never been a safe version of random stranger chat for kids. TalkWithStranger does not run one either: you must be 18 or older to use this site.
The main risks for children
- Strangers they can't verify. In a random chat anyone can claim any age or name.
- Explicit content. Random video chats often show adult content within seconds, with no warning.
- Pressure and recordings. Children can be pushed to share pictures or appear on camera, and those moments can be recorded and used against them.
- Moving to other apps. A stranger will often try to continue the chat on a private messaging app where parents won't see it.
Questions to ask your child
- Which apps and websites do you use to talk to people?
- Has anyone you don't know in real life messaged you or asked to video chat?
- Has anyone asked you to keep a secret or send a photo?
- Do you know you can always tell me, even if you broke a rule?
Practical steps for parents
- Turn on family settings on phones, tablets, consoles and app stores, including age limits and approved contacts.
- Keep cameras and devices out of bedrooms at night for younger children.
- Check new apps together before they are installed.
- If a stranger has asked your child for sexual images or tried to meet them, keep the evidence and contact the police.
