Random Chat Room (18+ Only)

You can also do 1-1 private chat without logging in.

TalkWithStranger is not a teen chat room: our random chat is for adults aged 18 and older only. If you are under 18, this page has safer ways to talk online. If you are 18 or older, you can start a free chat with strangers right away.

Is there a teen chat on TalkWithStranger?

No. TalkWithStranger is for adults aged 18 and older. We don't run teen chat rooms, and anyone under 18 must not use the site. Random chat means talking with people you can't see or check, and some adults go to anonymous chat sites looking for young people. That risk is the reason for the age limit, not a rule we made up to be strict.

Are teen chat rooms safe?

Open chat rooms where anyone can message anyone are not safe for under-18s, even when they are called "teen" rooms. Age is not checked, names and photos are easy to fake, and people who mean harm usually start by being friendly and saying they are the same age as you.

Safer ways for teens to talk online

  • Talk with people you already know. Group chats with school friends, teammates or family are where real friendships grow.
  • Join communities with moderators and age rules. Clubs, hobby groups, study groups and games with parental settings are safer than random chat.
  • Keep your profile private. Turn off location sharing and don't show your school, town or age publicly.
  • Never send photos to someone you met online. A picture can be saved and shared, and it can be used to pressure you.
  • Trust the uneasy feeling. If someone asks you to keep secrets, move to another app, send pictures or meet up, stop replying and tell an adult you trust.

If something online worries you

You are never in trouble for asking for help. Save the messages, block the person, report them inside the app, and tell a parent, teacher or another adult you trust. If someone threatens you or asks for sexual pictures, contact the police.

For parents of teenagers

  • Ask which apps your teen uses and who they talk to, and listen without judging.
  • Agree that no photos, addresses or school details are shared with online contacts.
  • Use the family settings in phones, consoles and app stores to limit who can contact your teen.
  • Watch for secrecy, much older "friends", unexplained gifts or game credit, and mood changes after phone use.
